With the Orange House operating at full strength, we are now focused on providing the
necessary resources for our guests to get ready for the fall and winter. We will be
holding a clothing giveaway on September 17. We request donations of sweatshirts,
sweatpants, hoodies, pullovers, and any other articles of fall clothing you may have.
Sleeping bags are also in high demand, so any contributions in this category would be
greatly appreciated. Donations can be brought to 702 Clark, and we will set up tables in
our backyard to distribute clothing to those in need. Our community has always been
generous, and many of our guests rely on these opportunities to obtain adequate
clothing for the colder days of fall.

Fall is almost here, bringing with it the excitement of football, homecoming, colorful
leaves, and cool, crisp nights. This season evokes memories of the past and hopes for
the future. We have a busy fall planned for our community, anchored by our annual Fall
Fundraiser, which will once again take place at the Rustic Rose Barn in Roland on
October 19. As we prepare for the cooler months ahead, we are committed to
supporting our guests.

In preparation for our annual Fall Fundraiser, scheduled for Sunday, October 19, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m., we are excited to announce this year's theme, “Harvest Hands”. We anticipate another great turnout, with several activities planned for all ages. Given the costs associated with our recent remodel and supporting our growing ministry, this event is crucial for ARH to continue thriving, thanks to your generosity. We are still seeking donated goods and services for our auction at the event, so please reach out if you have any suggestions or can donate an item.

Additionally, please save your recycled cans, as the Romero House has been selected
as ABC Cans' “non-profit of the month” for October. This is a great way to recycle your cans while also supporting our mission. ABC Cans will donate a portion of its profits to ARH for October. ABC Cans is located at 5820 Lincoln Way in Ames and 1317 SW Ordnance Road in Ankeny. We appreciate the support of ABC Cans and encourage you to participate in this program and support them throughout the year.

Café el Zapote will be hosting an event at the Orange House on September 13 from
9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. They are raising capital for their new growth initiatives and invite
the public to join them at this event. This is a wonderful opportunity to introduce new
faces to our mission and share the important work being done. We are continuously
seeking innovative ways to foster growth in our community by collaborating with other organizations that benefit Ames.
